Fariha Easar

I'm an International human rights law professional and educator with 15+ years advising governments and justice institutions on rule of law, criminal justice reform, and gender justice in conflict-affected environments, through legislative drafting, judicial modernization, and institutional reform. My work has expanded access to justice, strengthened government and corporate accountability, and protected the rights of vulnerable and marginalized communities across Afghanistan, the MENA region, and other complex jurisdictions. In recent years, my focus has shifted toward the intersection of human rights and emerging technology: how AI systems create risks of discrimination and privacy violation, and how they can instead be harnessed to protect those same rights. This grew out of my graduate work at American University Washington College of Law, where I studied how emerging technologies reshape data security and discrimination prevention. I'm now seeking opportunities in AI governance, digital regulation, and cross-border legal issues, where I can help institutions manage technological risk while strengthening oversight. I hold an LL.M. in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, an LL.B. in Law and Political Science, an MBA in Leadership, and a PMP certification, and I'm fluent in four languages. I teach and write on international human rights law and technology's impact on rights, bringing an executive policy mindset alongside firsthand experience defending rights under pressure.
